Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has once again grabbed the media’s attention during the sidelines of the exhibition match in Switzerland.

Afridi was the captain of the Royals’ team during the ‘Cricket on Ice’ event, where he asked an India fan to straighten the flag while posing for the picture.

Afridi is famous for his point of view regarding cricketing ties between India and Pakistan. On numerous occasions in the past, the 37-year-old has revealed his point of view that cricket can help in breaking the ice between two arch-rivals.

After the match in Switzerland, Afridi once again reiterated his point of view. “I believe as cricketers, we can set examples of how a relationship between individuals can be a template for a relationship between countries,” Afridi was quoted as saying by the Times of India. “I think after Pakistan, the two countries where I have received the most love and respect are India and Australia.”

There were a host of superstars who took part in the event where two T20 matches were played, which included former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar, former Indian Opener Virender Sehwag and ex-South African captain Graeme Smith.
