PTI Facebook Pages Hacked, Millions of Fans Lost

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s more than 30 fan pages were hacked today in a single go, costing the political party millions of fans go wasted.

No one has taken the responsibility for this massive hack down of PTI’s facebook fan pages.

Citing President of the Insaf Students Federation in Karachi, Arsalan Ghumman, The Express Tribune reported that the official Facebook pages of PTI leader Imran Khan, the student wing Insaf Students Federation, and several, more including that of Dr. Alvi were hacked into and hidden from the public’s eye.

“The pages were hijacked at 3 pm on Friday. We are in touch with the Facebook authorities to recover them,” he said.

On other hands Facebook is notorious for taking such cases non-seriously.

Reportedly, hacker first cracked the gmail id of Mr. Imran Ghazali, the web manager of PTI social media team before cracking into facebook pages of political party.

It is unclear so far if pages were deleted or are kept private (hidden from public) by the hacker.

If not recovered, this is going to be a big blow PTI’s short term plans. This incident yet again reminds us that we are living in a country without cyber law.

Finally, PTI Facebook Pages are recovered on Date 08.12.2012 at 11:55 PM

Google Bangladesh Hacked

Posted on 08 January 2011 by PakBee - Total hits: 48,964

Dhaka, Hackers have broken into the Bangladesh site of leading search engine Google, internet service experts said Saturday evening.

The site is inaccessible from some ISPs, as their DNS settings have been hacked.

Visitors to the site are seeing a defaced landing page rather than the usual search site.

Users can at times view the google.com.bd homepage due to the cache on their browser, but the page entertains no search.

Attempts to access the site by users are rebounded with message reading, “Google Bangladesh OwN3D by TiGER-M@TE.”

“The site has definitely been hacked,” said Pradip Dey, chief technical officer of ADN, a leading ISP.

“A couple of other ISPs have also got similar complaints from their clients,” he said.

Earlier, privately managed International Internet Gateway operator, Mango Teleservices, said they can enter google.com.bd.

“I can access it from here. But, many are calling us about this problem.”

In response to ICA’s (Indian Cyber Army) attack on 40 Pakistan’s government websites earlier this week, Pakistani hackers have retaliated by defacing some 270 Indian websites in a single go including Indian CBI (Central bureau of investigation) website.

In an email sent to ProPakistani, PCA or Pakistan Cyber Army claimed that they have defaced Indian CBI’s website. PCA said that this was a planned defacement in response to ICA’s attempt.

PCA left a message on CBI’s website as following:

This attempt is in response to the Pakistani websites hacked by ‘Indian Cyber Army’. We told you before too.. we are sleeping but not dead.. remember PCA (Pakistan cyber army)!..back off kids or we will smoke your d00rs off like we did before..

A message by Pakistan Cyber Army
Pakistan Zindabad!

In another effort, HEX786, a Pakistani hacker, has posted a message on his website announcing the defacement of 270 Indian websites.

HEX786 didn’t deface those websites, instead inserted a html file named as HEX786.html in root directory of mentioned websites, exactly the way ICA did to Pakistani websites.

HEX786 warned Indian hackers to not to initiate the cyber war. He writes:

Indians No0bs Hackers We Are Warning You, Stop this Cyber War You have Started Against Pakistan. Don’t think that You’re far Away from Us. We Will Make Your Internet Hell, See How We will Defeat You in Cyber War You’ll Never Ever Forget.

Complete list of hacked websites is given here

It merits mentioning here that senior hackers on both side of borders are advising their communities to not to engage themselves in such activities.
