ISLAMABAD: Ejaz Haroon has stepped down from the post of Managing Director Pakistan International Airline (PIA) after successful negotiations between the government and protesting employees of PIA, Geo News reported Friday.
After the talks, President Pakistan Airlines Pilot’s Association (PALPA) Sohail Baloch announced end to the strike that continued for four days.
The protesting employees of PIA burst into celebrations as the reports of MD PIA’s resignation came out at the end of negotiations between the Government’s committee and PALPA representatives.
Talking to media after talks, Defence Minister Ahmed Mukhtar along with Interior Minister Rehman Malik, said: “MD PIA has resigned and his resignation has been accepted.”
He said now it is time for ‘all of us have to work together for the progress of PIA.’
Rehman Malik said an agreement with protesting employees of PIA had been reached.
All the sacked employees of PIA have also been reinstated.
